In Memoriam

In Memoriam is a site-specific installation consisting of thirteen watercolor paintings on mulberry paper, one gold. It speaks directly of the story of the Golden Spruce, a rare tree felled in protest of logging, but it refers to the need to respect and memorialize all trees and forests, along with their human counterparts lost to the pandemic and racial violence. It was exhibited at IGCA International Gallery of Contemporary Art in Anchorage, Alaska in August 2020.
