ELEVATIONS

These paintings are concerned with the balance of the natural world with the civilized world. Random bits of nature and structure are combined in an organized stacking, laying image next to image, in a kind of architectural elevation drawing. tying disparate images and forms together. The paintings also address the elevation in the landscape- the forms and colors associated with diverse altitudes ranging from the mountains to plains. Humans experience nature in a unique way, breaking it down into convenient parts, yet giving it a spiritual role, and elevating it.

The paintings were exhibited at Laramie County Community College, Cheyenne, in 2011, and at Buell Theater, Denver, in 2008.
