Empty Landscapes

Empty Landscapes are watercolors inspired by the barren landscapes of Northern Wyoming experienced while on a residency at Ucross Foundation in Wyoming. The large empty skies, the minimal textured land, and the sculptural quality of stone and plant life, rendered in shades of sepia and gray, describe the bone chilling stark beauty of the location that is anything but empty. Painted in November of 2019.
