Avalon

Avalon is a series of paintings created during a residency on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada. Drawing from the coastal landscape, its plants, terrain, and weather, the work reflects on grief, memory, and renewal following the recent loss of my mother. With Newfoundland located just across the Atlantic from her native Denmark, the place became a point of personal and symbolic connection. The series uses abstracted landscape elements to explore how place shapes emotion and painting becomes a way to process and heal.
