Broken Barrier

Broken Barrier is an oil painting on thirteen connected panels depicting a landscape from Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, where a border wall is currently under construction, and countless cacti, Native American artifacts, wildlife and water sources are being destroyed to build it. The panels reverse the dimensions of the wall, and render it in different times of day, in bright hopeful sunlight, and the undercover of night. It was exhibited at the Center for Visual Art, Denver, in the Artnauts’ collective group exhibition “The Walls Between Us”.
